Just some photos

Here are some photos of Stirling and of the campus from yesterday. Yesterday was a really hot day with over 20 degrees and the sun shining like never before. Of course I had to take my camera out and take some lovely photos for my blog

Frankie and benny's

Yesterday I went for lunch at Frankie and Benny's and then shopping with loads of people from my hall. As much as I'd love to tell yous all about it, I'm lazy and need to run to my lectures. So here are some photos  =D

Mr. Squirrel

Another week with no lectures on Thursday and Friday is over and a new one has already started. Where did the time go? I was supposed to get my jag on Thursday, but since I'm still on antibiotics I have to wait until next week. I was planning to spend the weekend doing homework, but that just didn’t happen. At all. I went down to Edinburgh on Thursday night with Tasha, Natalie and Amy since they were all going home as well. On Saturday Connor, Jack and I met up with matt for his 18th. Since I'm still not feeling the best we met him at Starbucks for a while just to insult and abuse him. Then when he and the others were going out clubbing we went to the cinema to watch the troll hunter. It was so that they would get their dose of Norwegian culture. Since it's filled with Norwegian humour I can see how they didn’t enjoy it as much as I did, but they still liked it.
The birthday douche:

Then today when I was on my way to the lecture hall I met Mr. Squirrel. He was just casually hanging from a tree doing his squirrel thing. He made my day. I think I’m going to marry him. He’s so chill

crazy night

After another night with no sleep I went to the doctor this morning. Turns out that I do infact have a chest infection so he gave me some antibiotics. That explains why it feels like my lungs are trying to kill me. In lectures we learned about blood pressure and infections. It's really interesting, but most of this is all new to me since i never took biology in high school. We have the day of tomorrow and on Friday, because of our occupational health meetings. I have mine tomorrow at 12:30, so after that I'll go down to Edinburgh and get some sympathy from Connor. My night tonight is going to consist of sour skittles, normal skittles, Pringles, antibiotics, Cadbury dairy milk, ibuprofen and lo0st and lots of tissues to blow my nose in. At some point Skype will be involved as well.

hello lung

I started to feel so much better on Sunday and was getting hopeful that it would be over by today. But I had to leave early from lectures yesterday and today because I was feeling really faint and nauseous. I'm not happy about this being constantly sick thing. I can't seem to sleep much either because I'm having trouble breathing. I was not pleased at all yesterday when the fire alarm went off at 2 in the morning. Again. I had just fallen asleep when it felt like someone was stabbing me in the ear with this loud screaming sound. The worst part was how they didn’t even tell us what room it came from so we can egg someone like we did last time. It took me ages to get back to sleep because i had to sleep sitting up so I could breathe properly. Turns out that the feeling of coughing up your lungs and gagging at the same time is not so nice when it lasts for days and days.

New camera

After a weekend of being sick I'm finally feeling a lot better. I'm back in my halls at campus and playing around with the camera I bought today. It's a Samsung PL150 and so far I love it. The best part was how the man in the shop had used it to take some photos of himself before giving it to me. I’m sending my old camera to my brother. I don’t have the heart to bin it, so it’s better that he has it.

This means you'll get some propper photos of my room soon (I just need to clean it first. It's a propper mess right now)

Knocked out

I went down to Edinburgh on Wednesday because I had Thursday and Friday off. The city link was 40 minutes late, so I was not happy at all and after having to pay more than last time I was not pleased at all. After almost getting lost in Wester Hailes I got home to Connor’s new flat. It's not as shitty as I thought it would be. It's actually quite nice, but it still had a few things that need to be fixed. Like the fact that the windows don’t open. The best part of m stay there was when I made Connor cook, even though I took over after a little while and you can’t really call it cooking since its just pasta. After I got an allergy attack that decided to almost kill me I got a really bad cold. Yay. Luckily that didn’t hit me until later on the night so I felt just fine while going into Herriot Watt uni to have a look. The university is really big, if it wasn’t for the face that I walked after Dan and Connor I would have gotten lost. Really lost.

We went to the Filling Station on Friday (it's my favorite restaurant in Edinburgh; you should all check it out). Despite his facial expression the food was really really nice. Connor's flat still doesn’t have internet, so we decided to go to his parent’s house right after the meal. During dinner I just started feeling worse and worse and yesterday just seem like a big blur filled with coughing, sneezing and blowing my nose while wanting to die. I’m feeling much better today, but still not good.  On Monday we will actually start learning useful things in university. So far what we have learned has been common sense like don’t beat up the patients and things like that. The lectures I’m looking most forward to is: Introduction to life sciences and the human body; Control systems of the body – overview of the central nervous system; Introduction to Cardiovascular System - Blood vessels & Heart; and Basic principles of pharmacology. On Thursday and Friday we have our occupational health appointments. I’m lucky enough to have mine on Thursday at 12:30, so I can escape to Edinburgh again for another long weekend.

Also: Aurora and Sabine are finally in the same country as me again, even though they are still very far away, it makes me happy to think about that I don't have to take a plane to see them

Blog tip

I just thought I should tip yous about a new amazing blog. It's by my two lovely friends Aurora and Sabine. They are both starting a university in oxford called Oxford Brookes. It's definitely worth having a look at. Yous can all look at it here -oxfordsfinest.blogspot.com-

PS. Aurora also has a blog on her own called -auroramv.blogspot.com-. Even though it's mostly in norwegian it's worth having a look at

Since last time

After I tried on my nurse uniform I went down to Edinburgh to spend the weekend with Connor. He was moving into his new flat so I was there to "help" (I have to say that I was probably more in the way then actually helping, but at least I was bringing some charisma with me). I got back to Stirling just in time for everybody to me shit faced. Fresher’s week has started so there is constantly someone drinking. This week we have actually learned something that was useful. This week is all about introduction to professional and ethical practice. This is our timetable for this week, as it's changing every week
I have my library group on Thursday at 13:00-14:00 so after that I'll go to Edinburgh, since I have the Friday off.
Yesterday we had a foam party. It was a lot of fun, but after swallowing a bit too much of it while trying to breathe I went back to the halls. The night club on campus is called envy and is really good. I think it could have been a bit bigger, but that also just makes it cozier.

my nurse uniform

Today we tried on our nurse uniforms to find the right size and everything. This one is mine, just that it will be in a different colour. I’m really excited. I got to run, I’m going down to Edinburgh this weekend. (it was 8 in the morning so my face was not at it's best)

University of Stirling

So, I moved into campus on Sunday. I have to tell yous before I tell anything else. I love it here. I had been in my room for about 5 minutes before someone knocked on my door and told me there were drinks in the kitchen. There are a lot of names to remember and I'm doing my best to remember everybody. The faces are no problem at all, but actually be like hi and then the name, is a bit worse. It's only the nurses that have moved into campus so far, but next week is fresher’s week and I have a feeling that there will be too many names for me to handle. We started "school" on Monday. It wasn’t actually any school, but more just information. When I went to pick up my student card I was sent around campus like a ping pong ball, because I wasn’t enrolled as a student yet. When I finally ended up in the right office that could actually help me, their computers were down. So I went back to my room and took a nap. When I woke up I got an email that told me to come over to pick up my card, but by the time I got there the office was closed. phef. Today we had the most useless classes ever in a lecture hall that was so hot I thought I was going to die. We didn’t learn anything apart from how to use the internet, the printers, the copy machines and the library. Something they could have spent 10 minutes explaining, but instead they used the time between 9:30 - 15:00. I'm not really sure what's supposed to go on tomorrow, but I'll figure it out. The two night that I've been here has been filled with drunkenness (not so much from my side, but there seems to constantly being someone drunk walking around), so I wonder what fresher’s week will be like. I’ve already made lots of friends and now I’ll show you some photos (I’ve still not got the wire for my camera, so the photos are taken with my phone.. sorry for the crappy quality)

These two photo's are from my room

And these three are from around the campus. The campus is massive, so instead of me showing you tons and tons of pictures, I'll show you a map of the campus. I live where it says “main halls of residence”. I live in A K Davidson halls 5/21E if anybody was wondering =D
The campus is filled with bunnies, squirrels and different birds. Once again, I’m sorry for the shitty quality on the photos, but I’ve asked my mom to send me the cable for my camera now

dude, 19

19, the most useless birthday ever. Really. I'd like to be 18 for one more year then just turn 20. That would be nice. However life doesn’t just skip birthdays like that. So I'll celebrate my 18 + 1th birthday tomorrow. Life back in Scotland is awesome. I love every second, even though I'm not doing much. I'm moving into university on Sunday. Connor's parents are driving me up to Stirling. I've lost the cable to my camera (or it's somewhere in my bags, but I cannot be bothered looking for it), so there will be a lack of new photos until I find it. I'm going back to St. David's RC High School to get my art stuff back today, and then tonight I'll go out with Connor and his family for dinner. I don't really have many updates to come with, apart from that I baked an Oreocake.
So happy birthday to me
I've added two photos, one of me as a kid and one of me a few months ago. It's funny to see how much I've changed and how I still look just like myself
