The new braceface

That's two exams down, two to go. Today was my English exam. I did fine, but feel like I lacked the last whatever that you can never quite put your finger on. The tasks were all right. You had to answer three of them and the last one was the only one with options. They were about: comparing three texts about the Battle of Hastings in 1066; Writing a news article about a historical event of your own choice from British history; and then you could choose and I chose 3 C. This was about multiculturalism in Britain. Good thing I don't know anything about that or else I might have - guh - passed. When I woke up it was raining. Not just a little, it was pouring down. So with the rain jacket on and candy and books in my bag I walked happily to school. During the exam I ended up sitting listening to the rain for ages before I panicked and got back to my writing.

Apart from that my brother got his braces on today. I have never been this excited in my life. I've been walking around singing this song for ages. Priceless. I guess now that he actually has them on I should stop - nah!

Sissy’s Magical Ponycorn Adventure!

I've already forgot all about the rainy weekend. The weather today has been really sweet. It's been roasting and after running to the metro my throat dried out and I craved an ice-cold drink. Sprite satisfied my needs for the moment. I went to the police department in Grønnland to fill out some forms that says that "hey I'm not a pedo, it's cool if I work in a nursery". With other words, a criminal background check. The woman that worked there was scary and looked at me in an evil way. I think she wanted to eat me. It definitely looked that way. Only bad thing about the day was the pollen attack, could easily have lived without it. I don't need to go around crying and sneezing all day. It's my day off before the English exam tomorrow. I'm not all that nervous, but I guess I'll feel it when tomorrow starts closing up. Actually, it's supposed to be my day off, but I had to go into school anyways with Stine to have our oral presentation in religion. We had about ethics and we aced it! Got a 5+ fo sho. So that means that I'll get a 5 for my final mark in religion. So I put my happy face on. The pollen meds knock me out real bad so when I got home I slept for 2 hours. Not cool. I’ve also played a really annoying and weird game called Sissy’s Magical Ponycorn Adventure. It’s made by a 5 year old so I guess it had to be freaky.  I'll also just add some photos I took of the weather so that you can all share my enthusiasm.

Rainy day

My mom and I are home alone this weekend. My dad and brother are camping in my aunt’s campervan. Sucks to be them, because it's raining. My head always hurts when the weather is bad. I hate being weather sick, but it's also kind of cool how nature can affect me in that way. I think it runs in my family since my mom gets weather sick as well, and so did her mom when she lived. The day has been wasted in front of the TV. Not that there is much on TV today. Yesterday my mom, my neighbor Broder and I ate a whole box of tres-is, yeah, that's two liters of ice cream people. Today is more or less the same. Mom just came back from the store and she had bought some more ice cream. I love my life sometimes. Now she's making soup. The plan for the day is: Chill some more in the sofa; have some more ice cream; not getting dressed; eat some soup; facebook; and well, that's it. Best. day. ever.
Ok, this made me sound lazy as hell. I have done something today. I got up and let the cat out when she was mjauing at the door. Then I let her back in again after a while. Then I changed the channel on the TV when I was bored. Oh, and as I let the cat out I took a photo.

Hello, phone!

After 3 months without a phone, I finally got my simcards back and WOW what a wonderful feeling. I was expecting a few texts after all those months. But I forgot that text that's not opened within a week gets deleted. Yeah, all i got was the text that I've gotten the last week. That sucked. I was hoping for a thousand texts and a million lost calls. Aurora, Sabine, Nora, Elen, Mariam and me went to Burger King to celebrate during lunch. After lunch I just went home. I just couldn’t be arsed going to my Norwegian class after I had my exam in that subject. I can still have an oral exam, but I'm crossing my finger that I'll get English for my oral exam instead. Religion would be fine too.

For some reason Aurora doesn’t like ketchup on her fingers
 Texts starts rolling in
 I've missed you, my dear

First exam down!

I'd just like to start this blog post by saying thank you to Aurora for making me nervous as hell right before the written Norwegian exam today. This morning I checked her blog and it was the most awful message there ever "for 5 hours a total of 13 years of Norwegian classes (up to several times a week) will be squeezed into one big task". Way to go. The exam was hard. We could choose between 5 different tasks. I would just like to dedicate this blog post to Utdanningsdirektoratet for giving us the most fucked up and retarded tasks EVER. I choose task number 2: Kvinnestudentar and ForrĂĄdt were the two texts that I had to use. "Both of these texts ask about the female role in their time. Compare the literary techniques used and the function the literary techniques has in the two texts. Consider if the texts are still useful today.". I hope that you can all feel my pain. Well, for once I didn’t rush on my exam. I spent 4 hours writing that damn essay and then I went to my job interview at Bunnpris. It went all right and the boss was cool. She'll call me sometime next week and let me know if I got the job or not. Aurora also had an interview there and if we both get the job we'll totally rock black and yellow uniforms!

The last days - Russetiden

I've told yous about Stavanger, Tryvann, rolling with the party buses and now it's time to talk about the last days. After the Tryvann weekend I was once again sick and exhausted, but that doesn’t stop me if I really want something. So the 16th I went to a BBQ at Sabine's house. I just realised that I've been too far too many BBQ's already. Well, we had fun and after a while we started with my favourite game ever: name the movie. It goes like this: You say one line or sentence from a movie and then the rest of the group has to guess what movie it's from. It's a funny game, especially when you've had a bit to drink. Emil was the most excited one. He started to scream whenever he knew the answer. After a while we all started singing along to old songs with a passion. I guess you could call it screaming more than singing. Elen got so upset after a while that she started to cry. That made my day.

The next day, the 17th, was the Norwegian national day and also the last day of Russetiden. It's weird that it's over. It's been something I've been looking forward to for ages and ages. Russen has always been the big kids and then poof next year’s Russ will be the small kids. I overslept and had to stress my way downtown so I wouldn’t miss the parade. Somehow, I ended up getting there early and had to wait for ages and ages with the others. While we were waiting kids attacked us from all angles wanting our russekort. I ran out quite quickly but when I got home I saw that my box was still filled with them. I guess I can keep all of them as a memory. After the parade I went home to my neighbours where we had our 17th of May dinner. Then we went home and I folded my red trousers together and put them on the shelf. I don't have the heart to pack them away. Too many good memories!

 The royal family

Now Russetiden is all over. Exams and (I know it sounds scary) LIFE is waiting for me right around the corner

Exams coming up!

The last few weeks’ school has been filled up with a whole lot of nothing. We don't learn anything new and half the class doesn’t even bother to show up anymore. During and a few days after the Russetid people we're constantly hangover / sick. Still the teachers decided that: Hey! Let's force these poor kids that old wants to sleep and party to come into school and give them shit loads of homework. Bastards! Now however, when everybody has recovered and feels better, we do nothing. Only reason to show up is so that they won’t put you up as absent and you'll get even more days and hours away from school glued on to your diploma for the rest of your life. I miss Scotland. There we had like a month of study leave. Where we could relax and revise for our exams if we needed to. Somehow the Norwegian school system thinks it's a god idea to force the kids to stay in school to do nothing. At least we get one day off before each exam. So tomorrow I'm going to sleep and just chill I guess. My Norwegian written exam is on Thursday and after that I have a job interview! I did actually get a job on Monday as a substitute in lots of different nurseries around in Oslo. So whenever someone is sick, they will call me. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to work though. She told me that the summer is the time of the year where they don't really need many substitutes. So I need a job next to this one. The job interview I'm going to is for a small grocery shop and that's perfect! It's one of few shops that have the permission to keep the shop open on Sundays. Thank you, Norway for having such idiotic regulations. It's also open during Christmas and on every national holiday. Which is awesome for me because if everything goes by plan and I'll get accepted by a Scottish university, I'll need to work shitloads to save up money. I will get a student loan, but it's nice to be able to start your life without massive dept. Woah, totally sidetracked from what I was supposed to write about there. My exams are as following: Thursday the 26th of may I have written Norwegian; Tuesday the 31st of may I have a written English exam; Monday the 6th of June I have a written exam in Law; and my last exam will be on the 14th of June. I've still not been told in what subject, but we do know that it is a Oral exam. The day after the Oral exam we'll have our graduation meal (it's not like prom, just a fancy dinner) and the day after that again (that's the part I'm most excited about) I'll see my boyfriend Connor again! He's coming over to Oslo from Edinburgh with his friend James and they will stay at my house for 12 days. Iceland better not fuck it up with their stupid volcanic ash!
Since this was supposed to be about school and exams I might as well add a photo of my school; Berg videregĂĄende skole (or just Berg VGS)
Welcome to hell!

Tryvann - Russetiden

Well, my last post was about Stavanger. I might as well tell yous about the rest as well. I guess I can start with Tryvann. Tryvann -Your life's party 2011. I can't really say anything about it that's negative. However, just to be as pessimistic as possible: It was kind of a long way to the bus. My foot didn’t like it there either. It decided that twisting 9 times during Russetiden was a good idea. Fuck you foot! It's so weak now and still hurts at times. But, enough about my shitty balance when drunk and back to Tryvann: Well, I can tell you all about it! But I guess the videos on YouTube is better (and then I don't have to write a damn essay that use the words "awesome", "sweet" and "epic" all the time)

Looking at these videos makes me want to do it all over again. Good news! All the videos are in English =P I guess I should do my duty as a blogger and post some pictures too..

Stavanger - Russetiden

Well, I left blogg.no before I could tell about the last adventures as a Russ. I didn't prioritize blogging during the graduation party and well, I don't regret that either. I've been to busy having fun and partying. My last blog post was about the Russ's day at TusenFryd (the amusement park I used to work in during summer). So I guess I should tell all of yous about what I did after that. Well, I went to Landstreffet (country meeting) in Stavanger. There is only really one word to say: wow. After sitting on that damn train for hours and hours my mood had hit the bottom. I wanted to eat some proper food and relax. The worst part was that it was raining when I got off the train. I finally found Sandra after meeting an Englishman on the bus who wondered what the hell the read trousers were all about. I explained all about the graduation party. He told me that he lived close to Kongeparken (where the country meeting is) and that this morning his windows were vibrating and he heard this awful song come on and went something like this "jai kjannar en bĂĄtt". I just couldn’t stop laughing. Anyways. Sandra and I waited in the queue for ages and ages and after that queue there was another queue. That didn't help on my mood at all. But the music was loud even though we were far away from the actual party. So I can see how it was frustrating for that Englishman. We spent ages on finding the damn camping area but when we first did we got the tent up, threw our belongings in there and then we went to party like true Russ

After some awesome drunken dance moves we met up with Pernille Persen (also called PP since there are two Pernille's in our group. I'm PA, lol), Kjersti, Merete and Michelle. We all decided to go and see loads of bands, but ended up seeing only Kaizers Orchestra that night. I don't mind, because Kaizers are freaking awesome. The funniest part was sandra. To say she was tipsy is an understatement. Anyways, she had walked around the whole night super excited for Kaizers and was all like: Wooooh. Kaizeeeeerrrssssss! But in the concert hall it was crowded and people were pushing. At some point I was moving in the crowd, but my feet wasn’t touching the floor at all. So we moved up, to get away from the most hardcore fans. Seriously, those people have issues. We found some nice stairs to sit on and Sandra just went: Meh, I don't like Kaizers and left with Merete and Michelle. I love how random that girl is. I was there with PP and Kjersti, and we had a great time. The concert was really good and I just love these girls.

We went outside and after some more drunken dance moves Sandra was missing. She said that she needed to go to the tent and get something. However, she just went to sleep. So after half an hour and she still want back I got worried and looked for her. She was sleeping like a baby. A drunken baby, that is. I could barely wake her up and when I finally did she just grunted. It was the middle of the night, so I just went to sleep as well. There was no point of going to party more. I needed to save up some energy to the next day. That failed. Sandra woke up at nine. Totally hung over and ready to bug the hell out of me. We got up, and got ready for another day. Luckily it had stopped raining an hour after we got there the day before so the sun was shining and it was nice and hot outside. We walked around and found Sindre. We hung out with him most of the day as we went to see Pablo Francisco and Postgirobygget.

After an awesome time we met up with the other girls again. We danced and had an amazingly random and lovely time.  I met lots of people I hadn’t seen in ages and it truly made my day. It's weird to see how much people have grown since primary! Steve Aoki was wild and when I didn’t even dance my body moved because of the base. Epic times. The rest of the night was spent looking for Sandra that once again disappeared. When we finally found her, we were a bit angry, but I was just in the mood to party. After some random time we walked back to the tent. And then we started laughing. And we never really stopped laughing. She just died from my "trrrr" laugh and I just find her witch laugh priceless. We must have been lying there for ages and then all of a sudden some dude fell on my tent. He broke my damn tent! I was so annoyed. My dear tent will never be the same again! When we woke up, it was time to pack and go home. Sandra took the bus and I the train. And well, that was my Landstreffet in Stavanger adventure. However, I'm not sure I've been able to explain just how awesome it was. So here's one more photo of Sandra dancing
